Reluctant sale due to chronic knee trouble. New oil and filters within 70 miles. Motd around 7-8 months.  Good reliable bike ready to go anywhere, needs nothing. Only problem with this is the speedo packed in at 19+k so mileage unknown. Speedo and odo work, it just does'nt add the miles.

Usual scuffs and scrapes but I'd say it was one of the better ones I've seen  and always gets a nice compliment.

£1300 bargain.

Manchester m29 area.

I'll regret it but it'll always be there tempting me. I've got a long list of ops on both knees mate. It's the cruciate that's giving me most jip. If that goes again it'll mess with me mind.cry

Hi Steve,
I'm looking for a TTR and this looks interesting. I'm keen for a bike that is fully road legal - I see you've got an FMF can on it. Is it CE marked? If not, do you have the original?
Rich.

On at mot so must be legal ;-]

No original included but carbs been set up for this can and it goes well.

nb, I don't want to appear rude lads but it is what it is. An old traily bike so think on before you enquire or come to see. It's been in mud, dropped a hundred times probably, under water, god knows what else. The pictures ALWAYS make bikes look better than they are. Don't expect anything else than an honest bike used as it should be.

Out with the  family atm so will answer any more questions tomorrow smile

MOT don't make it legal. Exhausts need CE or BS kitemark to keep the constabulary happy.

I'm sure that if it's not stamped "Not for road use" it will pass a MOT and it's at the discretion of the police if it's to loud or not.

I should of known someone would have come up with that idea!

However, the regs say:

clearly and indelibly marked with either—

(i) the British Standard marking indicating that it has been tested in accordance with test 2; or

(ii) a reference to its make and type specified by the manufacturer of the vehicle.

So being a sticker, they are not indelible, so the exhaust is still not legal.

I'm not trying to be difficult - I'm fine with people who choose to use a non-legal can. It's just that I don't want to risk any chance, small though it may be, of a fine/points. My licence, my choice.

Good luck with the sale.

Rich.

I believe the MOT regs changed and exhaust noise is at the discretion of the tester now - at least that's what I was told by one.

Really sorry that you are having to pack in riding Steve. Your TTR is going to be a real bargain for some lucky buyer!

Brian

Most bike repair shops pass any exhaust because they realise loud cans save lives. And the old bill don't go round looking for little embossed flags on exhausts. But yeah it is your choice

No Pete, it was typed with my tongue firmly in my cheek. Never ever know anyone done for it! I have known someone driving like the previously mentioned bellend who did get done for it, but that was down to the driving not the pipe and while they were there they did them for that as well, and a small number plate, and a tinted visor.

I thought so!... Oops that don't sound good! Luckily I have never been pulled whilst cranking on the revs on my 1300. Always in the back of the mind though. There is bugger all police presence around now anyway is there with all their budget cuts etc... Sorry for filling up your for sale thread Steve!no

I know mate, I'm only messing. I watched you start making inquiries a while ago so you could get it right. It's proved the right move selling the TTR for me atm. The missis has just come a cropper and I'll be pushing her around in a wheelchair for months by the sound of it.

Double ankle fracture mate. Not good, compounded by the fact we had to cancel this weekends speedway GP at Caaadiff.

Bugger.
