Seen this on Gumtree Australia. It says they are VTR 250 rims with professionally machines spacers. Nothing else is said about the fitting of the rims.

It would be good to have some motard rims. I would prefer some with spokes though.

Thanks Mark.

Yep that's my rig. If anybody is interested, I can dig up the measurements for the spacers.

The vtr250 was/is an asia/aussie market bike so unlikely to find any of those rims in Britain. OK for you though Markvan etc!

Yes, it's the Honda MC33 VTR250 that is not available in all markets. Five spoke rims, cush drive. Front axle diameter = 15mm (same as TTR). Rear axle diametre = 17mm (TTR = 20mm). Rear rotor was 240mm from memory, same as TTR. Front rotor is way different and the VTR hub is quite unique compared to other Hondas.

I basically followed the general approach that is posted here: http://motard-supermoto-wheels.sportsontheweb.net/motarding-other-bikes.htm

See attached images for the files I sent to the machinist.

1. The rotor adaptor mates the VTR hub to a stock TTR rotor.

2. The axle sleeves convert a 17mm axle (VTR) to 20mm. ID=17.1mm, OD=20mm. Sprocket side is 21mm wide, rotor side is 47mm wide. Long enough to reach and retain the snail cams.

3. There was also one more adaptor for the rear: 22mm wide, 17.1mm ID, 27.8mm OD. This went on the sprocket side.

4. The rear rotor side spacer was stock VTR and the rotor lined up perfectly. Winning!

5. For the front wheel, I reused the VTR speedo drive as a spacer and cut down a stock VTR spacer.

6. The front brake caliper needed a 1mm washer as I found the pads wore a bit unevenly. If I did it again, I would go 6mm rotor adaptor, or try and keep the VTR rotor and instead make a caliper relocation bracket.

With stock VTR gearing, I could reuse the same chain. There was enough adjustment range in the snail cams to deal with both.

Hope that helps.
