The perils of riding in Australia!

I had an email from a lady customer in Australia this morning which included this little gem in passing:

I am absolutely in love with my TTR and ride it not only off road here in New South Wales but also to work and back. I actually got knocked off it yesterday by a kangaroo but luckily I was only going slow and the bike only suffered a bent footpeg (which I straightened) and I bruised my knee and thumb :)    The perils of riding in the country here in Oz!

Apparently they are out in force at night and even  knock cars and vans off the road when they cross.

Bikers tend to be VERY wary.

Road kill is obvious but there are so many of them it doesn't  lessen the danger.

Their poo was also an obstacle for this rider:-

"My execution was masterful, right up to the point when I locked up the rear wheel, stalled and landed smack-down in a pile of mud and kangaroo ****.
No worries, because I could already tell I was going to get wet walking this river."

Hi there
I am the victim here..LOL. I was the one who TTRfan is talking about. It got me at about 30kms/hr as I had slowed down when I saw it. But it was pouring down with rain at the time and dark and foggy so I didnt have a chance. It hit the side of the bike and on further inspection this morning in daylight I notice a dent in the tank which had dried blood on it so at least the big bugger didnt get away unscathed. He would have been at least 5 foot tall as his head hit me in the elbow and I myself am almost 6 foot tall. I took a tumble and hurt my knee and thumb but the bike suffered nothing but a bent footpeg (which a hammer fixed) and a small dent in the tank. Lucky it happened only 10 mins from home and I managed to limp it back...LOL
Anyway am a new member here and its great to meet a like minded bunch.
Take care
