Having owned it for 2 years now, done several jobs on it and spent money on it despite never turning a wheel in 'anger' I give in. I've been trying to MOT it for nearly 3 months now and just can't find the time due to work, if I can't manage this I've resigned myself to the reality that even if I did get it road legal again I'll never get time to ride it !
So here we have my TTR250 oe:
1994 bike, imported in 1998 from what I can tell
Stacks of paperwork and old MOT's
Just had brand new wavey brake discs front and back (old ones were out of spec on thickness)
Had a rebore and brand new wossner piston kit and gasket set as it was burning a little oil when I got it. It's only run for around 3-4 minutes since installation. I now have a slight tapping noise once it warms up, I've tried to investigate but thus far I can't figure it out and as already mentioned I'm really struggling to find any time to spend on the bike. Obviously this and the need for an MOT is taken into account in the price. It does start up fine and runs fine, with no noise at all when cold.
It's a used bike so please don't expect showroom 'condition', however it has plenty of good points which you'll see in the pictures below (good bridgestone rubber, new front tyre, twin air foam filter, airbox mod, open pipe, carb reject (I was told on purchase and other mods support it but not verified), EBC Red Stuff pads etc. etc.). All lights/speedo/brakes work and I see no reason why it shouldn't pass the MOT I can't manage to get it to.
I'll let the pictures do the talking:
I won't toll on about the virtues of these great bikes, the fact that you're reading this here means you know all about them and how good they are.
Any questions please let me know. Bike is based at my home in Hartshorne, South Derbyshire (DE11). Looking for £825ono and would prefer a quick sale. I can deliver the bike locally for free (within 10 miles) or up to a distance of 50 miles at a cost (to be negotiated once purchase price has been agreed, if I can work it in with some of my regular travel then it won't cost much etc.). Please PM me on here or send me an e-mail - mikejoyceworldwide@gmail.com
Thanks for looking,
Mike
