Hi all, new member here forum looks great!

Got an issue with my TTR whereby it wont run correctly off idle. If you rev the bike it runs fine, but if you just open the throttle very slightly it is popping back through the carb and stalling. Carb has been stripped and cleaned and nothing obvious wrong with it,

Welcome, Paul, to the TTR forum.

The old TTR carburettor problem rears its ugly head again.

You say that yours has been stripped and cleaned - but how well? confuse

There is more than likely a microscopic bit of crud still blocking, or part blocking, a jet, or two, or an orifice somewhere. hmm

The age of the petrol in the tank sometimes has a bearing on this problem too.

If you put "carb" into the Search option on the top of the  page you will see at least 6 previous posts on this. smile

This CLICKY LINKY is there and has 3 pages. doh

Maybe replace the pilot jet, worked for me (after 2 cleanings of the old jet failed to do the job).

Welcome biggrin . Yes i agree with Cubber, iv'e just had the same problem. A second clean of the pilot jet had it running great.

Welcome to the forum Paul!

It looks like you have had some good answers to your question smile

I have had problems with cleaning pilot jets properly and usually just fit a new jet to the TTRs I refurbish and sell as it saves a lot of time messing about with the carb  in the long run. 

The standard (on UK blue TTRs) pilot jet isn't expensive - see here
