I've just bought a Blue TTR 250, 2002, just under 10,000 miles, 2 owners from new, all MOT's present, whatb a lovely Christmas present to me from me.
When we moved house last year, I sold my 2 little Honda Trailies, an XL185-(that'll take some beating in the hard bits) and an XL250RC), but no real regrets, I do need Electric start now! A bit later I sold my lovely Transalp 650, which was putting on weight and suffering from a self raising C of G, as I got older, dafter and slower to react. So after dropping it at walking pace, or less, several times, I felt it had to go, I do miss that bike.
Friends on the XLV forum suggested I try a Serow , a 250 if I could find one being a better bet than the older 225, Serows seem to be getting very dear, especially the rare 250's. I remember being quite impressed by a TTR250, and if one was good enough to take Lois all the way down W.Africa, it'll surely do me, then along came this one.
First impressions, I like the TTR, seems to need to rev a bit, but certainly goes nicely and it's nice and light.
Now I shall be taking up my old habit of Observing on Trials, I like to be able to ride rather than yomp into the sections, and I think it makes it fairer for the first competitor to find some tyre marks, showing the correct route through the sub or section.
