Totally TTRs has had a small number (5 only!) of racks made up in stainless steel by a local fabricator. They copy the design of the original Yamaha racks although there are some extra loops welded on to provide additional fixing points for bungees etc. They are very well made and also act as grab rails if your TTR is missing these. They are in their natural finish. These racks can be used with the original indicators if required.
I have been after a rack for my TTR since I got it new in 2006, but as we all know they are like hens teeth. Anyway my wife decided at short notice to go and see my daughter who has been on walkabout in Australia. I have long since known this is the land of racks for TTR's, hence immedaitley got a B&B Off Road rack on its way to the hotel for my wife to bring back.
Then I check out here for an update a notice Brian is now doing them.
I would be delighted to sell you one of the racks but I think you may be disappointed as I am pretty sure that the US frames are missing the four mounting points. See picture below. Sorry about the rusty frame!
We packed the last of the racks off to Australia today Paul - sorry
It must be the "rack time of year" as we have had quite a few inquiries in the last few days - enough to persuade me to order another batch to be made up.
They are quite an expensive item to keep in stock so I am probably over cautious with ordering
I can fully understand that Brian, expensive outlay. If the raid white one becomes available I might well take that off your hands, but if not, these look the business. Can you advise what the cost of the optional side pieces are as well please, I really like the design that they can be retro fitted!

The side pieces would be an extra £50. I have ordered 4 more standard racks and another with side rails already attached.
I have retro-fitted a pair of side rails for a customer and can vouch for the fact that the racks are made of tough stuff! Four extra holes had to be drilled to fit the rails. I had to buy some carbide drill bits in to make an impression on the stainless steel frame and rails! So I reckon its easier to get the rails fitted at the time the rack is made
Brian,
will the S/steel side racks, fit onto an original OE alum rack? - I assume they will, as you mention that the stainless steel rack was based on the original alum version?
The original Yam rack was nicely built but of quite small section aluminium. The square tube that our stainless steel racks are made from is probably twice the thickness.
I am not one to turn up a potential sale but I don't think that the side rails would fit the Yam rack very well and might in all probability cause damage to the ali rails. Probably look naff as well
Although based around the Yam rack, ours is substantially stronger and suitable for heavy loads.
the s/s racks look the go brian and the workmanship looks excellent. what grade s/s are they made from?. being in Britain " the land of metal polishing " I take it you could have them polished quite quickly if wanted. ELECTRO POLISHING I think they use a lot on stainless these days. like a lot of riders these days back packs seem to be the go whenever i've needed to carry anything [a diff centre was probably the heaviest ] but whenever I need to drag the TTR around in the garage I can see how it would be much easier with one of your racks fitted.
