Hear’s my TTR and it’s granddad in my book’s  the TTR is an 04 an the XR is a 1984 with  what’s left of a mix match of 1978 XL head on a 1983 cb 250 rs  bottom an gpz piston at the center giving out about 293cc an you can see where Yamaha came from with the TTR love me TTR but still love the xr as well only thing  thats better on the xr is the seat’s soft an lower on the plus for the TTR is the power boot an it still start’s after is been on it’s side on top of me for 5 min’s in a ditch. Will the TTr still be around after 34 years on the lane’s i think so. an yes the front wheels will swap between the two bikes an the Honda speedo cable right on to the Yamaha clock how about that...............

Its Frankenhonda! A few weeks ago my cousin and I pulled his 1980 XR250 out of a barn, where it had sat for many years, did the basics, changed a tire, and it fired right up and rode 150 miles of Plumas dirt. The '80 still had the dual shock. It didn't measure up to the TTR ('03), obviously, especially the suspension (hard to tell about power we didn't get into the carb). Like the TTR the XR was built to last, and too simple to screw up.
