Was checking my spark plug just as a follow up. While I was threading it back in, I noticed 2 little holes in the cylinder head right on the back side of where the spark sits. They look like a couple slices about 1cm long each. One on the I take side, the other on the exhaust side. No oil was around them, so I'm sure this isn't an issue. I would just like to hear it from u guys. I couldn't find any pics on it to confirm. Is this normal?

If they're the slots I think you're meaning confuse they are to let water out of the plug recess and through the finning.

Yamaha's design to drain the plug recess and stop the plug rusting.

Unfortunately the recess is deep and tends to fill and get blocked with mud splashes, which doesn't drain through the slots too well. no
