I just found a part that I forgot to put back in my carb after fooling around with jetting. Oops! how important is this? Is it ok to ride without it? Probably not, but I would like to make sure before I tear my carb apart for the 10th time within the last week. Please help.
I have done it myself. It is so easy to put a carb back together only to find a "spare" part on the bench when tidying up - no matter how careful or how good your systems are
If it is of any reassurance, the early carbs didn't have the baffle fitted
Hey Brian, is there such a thing as a 51 pilot jet for these bikes? Or would 52 be the next incroments up? My jet kit came with a 52.5, which is too rich. And the stock 50 I have is too lean (USA bike).
To the best of my knowledge the standard pilot jets are in increments of 2 so jump from #50 to #52 with no #51.
Presumably your #52.5 is non-standard?
Brian
Correct!
Terrence has the 6 Sigma jet kit... A #140 main with the needle set to the richest setting (apparently) so yes, non-standard.
I would suggest a #52 genuine Teikei, Brian should be able to help at a small cost. Failing that, you will need to buy jet drill bits and make the #50 into a #51 (which should be a .051mm drill bit).
