My brother Trev took the day off to go ride the route we have planned for this coming Saturday's A2E event.
Trev taking a "rest" at the top of a particularly rough lane:
Just stopped here for a drink and a breather - nice views which my camera never shows well!
The river levels have fallen in the recent dry spell and this is one of our fords which was easy today!
Despite the forecast, the weather was very kind up until about 3.30pm. Just as it started to rain properly, Trev got a puncture so we had to change the inner tube in the rain - not great! Sadly we had to do it twice as the tube got pinched whilst putting the tyre back on the first time around
To get the front wheel off the ground and keep the bike upright with the front wheel off, the simplest solution is to cut a branch from the hedge and use it as shown in the pic below:
We were pretty cold and wet by the time we got home with the last 3 hours riding (and mending punctures!) in the rain but the bikes have been power washed and put away ready for final checking and fettling tomorrow ready for the weekends riding. Not too much to do now.
