Hi I'm Markus and a new member of the forum.  Managed to find a very clean and perfectly maintained and tastefully modified 2004 TTR but, horror of horrors, it's (finally) going to get dirty (destined to live in France to explore the Poitou Charente countryside). I've already had fun stripping off the unnecessary road kit, and after raiding the TotallyTTR parts catalog, it's now got a shorty header pipe, fitted to a FMF power cone, case saver, new footrests (very nice they are too!), bash plate, frame guards and a few ods and ends that still need to be fitted before it hits the mud later this week (like decent tyres and hand guards and tail tidy). Almost too nice to abuse (particularly I view of the love and attention the previous owner gave it), but definitely something of a keeper... Simple playful fun...And a little less of a handful on long days out than my Husky TE450 of the same vintage!

I look forward to sharing my experiences (good and bad!)....

Now let the winter finally come to an end and may the fun begin.

Welcome and hello, Markus.

That looks one really handsome TTR.

It will be a pity to get it muddy, but afterall it's what they're built and bought for. wink

Enjoy yourself.

Martyn

biggrinWelcome Marcus, we are waiting for this god awful weather in the UK to start brightening up, then i will be hitting the lanes with vengeance, love this site, full of useful info on maintaining and always help from other members

looks a corker of a bike, and yes you are right, seems a shame to get it dirty.

Hi Opix

Nice 2004 you have, mine is a 2004 as well but well used and scratched, but surprisingly well maintained in the inside

I'm in the process of a semi serious overhaul, new parts and accessories and a serious cleanup

Funny thing is about the weather, I can't wait for the Summer to end so I can get out riding.

Can't stand the heat, that's why I live in the mountains.

Bring on the riding biggrin
