right chaps some good news my ttr has been rebuilt today with second hand barrel, piston and cylinder head and runs fine, only problem we have is we got no oil pressure, we have filled up with correct quantity of oil, taken pressure plug out of oil filter and nothing is weeping out did the minute test and nothing came out, took oil filter out was pretty much dry.
Any ideas To what it could be, maybe oil pump or oil pump teeth me and mate are a bit stumped.
Well it happy its started up and runs and ticks over fine.
I have heard of this problem a couple of times. In both cases the engine had been fitted with a clutch cover that had come off a TTR with an oil cooler fitted and the blanking plug that sends the oil around the cooler had been left in
I have been thinking about this Sammy and there has got to be something obvious.
Is the pump drive cog engaging properly with its driving cog? See pic below.
Is the O ring to the right in the pic in good condition?
If the clutch cover is off, can you blow through the oilways to make sure there is no blockage? Maybe feed some oil down from the check bolt hole to make sure it runs out the bottom freely?
Mate took pump off submerged in oil and spun it, there was pressure, all bolts are correct not changed anything in the cover and no pressure since it went on me, am and my mate are stumped.
Yep correct Brian, first couple of cranks with bolt cut down it wazzed out of oil pressure bolt, engine is really strong feels faster than before and loads of compression
