Replacing the seat cover

I would be interested in seeing a pic of the Moose Racing seat cover if possible please?

The TTR covers I have seen tend to be "fitted" with tailoring front and rear - see pics below of the ones we stock - and are very easy to fit.

I just ordered the Moose Racing standard seat cover. Right on the package it says TTR250. But when  I pulled it out and quickly threw it over the seat, it didn't seem like it was the right cut. I know they require some stretching, but there is a ton of material that gathers in the bend of the seat. Also, all the seat cover demos on Youtube show there are pockets at the top and bottom end of the seat cover, which easily holds it in place while you smooth out the middle. This cover, however, only has one pocket at the tank end of the seat. So I'm afraid it's going to be a battle from start to finish. Are all the TTR covers like this, or should I spend more $ and get a cover that's cut better for the TTR? When I took off my old one and laid them side by side, they do look pretty darn close. So I'm not sure if I made a good purchase or not. Any insight????

I bought my Genuine seat cover from here.... http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Yamaha/Motorcycle/1999/TTR250LC/SEAT/parts.html and couldn't be more happy with the fitment.

It sounds like the curve for the Moose Racing seat is not right, it shouldn't be too hard to recover, the only hard part should be finding the right staple gun.

So you got the factory OEM seat cover. I've looked at it too. But it's only $45 at boats.net. I'm sure prices vary based on where you live, but I've found www.boats.net to to have the best prices on all OEM parts.  Here's the link with prices to the same seat components:

http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Yamaha/Motorcycle/2003/TTR250%20-%20TTR250R/SEAT/parts.html

I paid $30 for the moose. So perhaps an extra $15 is worth the money. Did yours come fitted at both ends? Or did you have to fold the back end your self?

Stopped on top of a hill and walk down to help get a mate and his bike up. 15 miniuts later we both arrived at the top to where my TTR was parked. My seat cover had been shredded. Found this bird nest near bye with pieces of my seat cover. Its a BOWER BIRD.  They like to collect blue plastics for there nest to attract the females. We have some crazy animals here in Australia. ----(I must confess.) The part about my seat covered being shredded was a FIB  but the part about the BOWER BIRD is true.

Partzilla is the same company as boats.net. Partzilla is cheaper for most things but boats can be cheaper sometimes (not often).

The Genuine seat cover that I bought fit perfectly and has the curves at both ends. It went on easy as!

Shipping price varies according to parts bought but I am still happy with the prices. See here for more info on shipping... https://www.partzilla.com/index.php?pcsid=eqfg9n9h8cdugr6l8me1qmm5n4&p=shipping_quote

Those look way different than this one. Take a look...

This was only $30, plus I got free shipping from motorcyclesuperstor.com. But I guess you get what you pay for. How much are yours with shipping? I live in Atlanta, GA  USA. My bike is a 2003 TTR250P

 Hi Brandon

I am not seeing the photos here. Can you check the links please?

Many thanks

Brian

That seat cover looks horribly the wrong shape!!!nonono

I would be buying a Genuine one or at least one with the seat curves in it.

For boats.net shipping quote use this ... http://www.boats.net/index.php?p=shipping_quote
