Hi From Manning valley Australia
Permalink

I have  been checking this forum out for ages i have this week of work so thought id sign up .

here in the Manning we are surrounded  by forests covered in all kinds of trails and tracks so its a matter of put some fuel in and 2 mins later we are in the bush , average rides are about 140ks with the occasional weekend ride to moonan flat in the hunter valley 670k round trip taking approx 18 hours of riding with a great pub overnight to break it up .

I started off on Yamaha AG 100 an 8 year old kid on a farm sticking with Yamaha over the  next 40 years , my longer rides were on an XT 550 covering most of the country with some rides in excess of 12000 ks parted with it after doing 98000ks on it ,for the last 10 years its been a tt250 with the TTR joining the family a few years back . its fitted out with the usual stain tune exhaust ,B&B bash plate ,M12 tires ,bars to suit , 10w oil in the forks 14-52 gearing ,opened up the air box  , grease nipple on the swing arm , bark busters and the usual one size up on the pilot jet and of course the top shock bearing mod (best thing ever )

other than that its a matter of oil changes each 3-4 rides the occasional air filter clean  and a few too many tires ,currently My son has just got his licence so its tag teams on the TTR yesterday i went out for 4 hours only to have him jump on as soon as i got home and it was out for another 5 hours (on the look out for TTR No2 so we can ride together ) .just a great bike its perfect for the amount of hours it does and not having to spend much time on maintenance . smilesmile

Welcome (from Devon, UK) to the forum, Les.

There's no need to convince you of the TTR's charms.

You will find a good few Oz riders on this forum and be able to start an Australian Splinter Group. biggrinbiggrin

Also from Australia (Adelaide)

Got some videos on youtube www.youtube.com/user/KaneTerry

Not all on the TTR or dirt for that matter but bikes all the same

Would be interested to see videos from other riders around Australia

Cheers Terry
