After considering selling my ttr after busting the rings and scouring the barrel, I've decided to keep the old girl as my heart strings tugged at me every time I considered selling and she has been the most dependable and always there for me motorbike I've ever had, it never failed to start even in the snow and ice and got me over most of uk including a holiday in wales.

I've recently purchased a second hand cylinder for £250 a second hand barrel and piston yes a gamble but same guy that sold the cylinder and is in mint condition and looks good in pictures but means not having to run it in for 1000 miles,

Am already spent nearly £800 on parts to get it back on road is it worth it no financially but to me yes, am getting frame powder coated in the same colour as the official blue import ttrs if any body know the paint code or name let me know.

Needs brakes overhauled and all rear suspension bushings and bearings and top mount bushings doing, and panels cleaning or replacing.

Once done by next year am planing on a trip through Germany, Switzerland, France maybe Italy not sure yet while am young and dumb.

Just though I'd put this up to show am saving my ttr and keeping her fit for road use

Good, Glad news, Sammy.

There was an article by Jarra regarding paint codes, supplier. If you do a search you may find it. confuse

Am in two minds either get it painted red like the old XT600 XT350 or the blue frame as the later Yamaha TTR250

I was unlucky in that the local powder coaters don't keep the candy blue metallic so my frames are done in silver metallic with an overcoat of blue "glaze". Look real good and sparkle nicely in sunlight wink

Yeah think am doing it that colour more old school look to it, blue frame is nice but may clash with black seat white panel, white tank, purple wheels, going to eventually get some gold anoised rims laced up if I go for red,

Think red frame paint code is Yamaha Chappy Red 00E1

The powder coaters will shot blast and powder coat your wheels gold if you want. I had a set of purple-rimmed wheels done in metallic silver over a year ago and they look absolutely fine still.

Might that done aswell in gold would I need to removed the spokes and hubs to get it shot blastered
