I stripped down an engine recently and was surprised to see the bottom of one of the slippers had split. Not seen that before! confuse

I think that is pretty usual, you should see the one that was installed into my old TTR250, it had hair-line cracks all the way up the guide and some quite large ones too. I had to edit these pic's as it was hard to define the hairline cracks......
