Back from the Isle of Man, what a great place for green laning or rather rock laning, we managed to do all of them but two which were temprerary closed, I would recomend any one to go and ride them but you need at least 3 days riding from 8am to 7pm at a sensible pace so not to upset the natives who I must admit are so biker friendly, its unbelevable, infact hikers horse riders & mountain bikers bid you good day as you pass and even advise you on the condition of the trail ahead, unheard of over here, disaster struck about 2 miles from the end of the last lane down near Port Erin, I dropped of the centre ridge into a rout and dumped the bike, slow speed no dammage to me or the bike until I pisked it up, then bang my achilles tendon snapped in my rightl leg, I new streight away what I'd done as I snapped my left one 10 years previous, thank goodnes it happened on the last lane and not the first, I managed to ride the bike to the end of the trail sat down and not being able to use my back brake, trails done we had an Ice cream and a large coffee in Castle Town then did a lap of the TT circuit  onto the ferry and home.

Went to A & E this morning, now sat typing this with my leg in a temprary flaster,  I see the authopedic speciallist at 14.45 tomorrow to see when they are going to opperate on me to stitch it back togeather, so now Ive got to look forward to six weeks in plaster and six months taking it easy so not to snap it again.

It looks like I am not going to ride any of my bikes again this year.

Bad luck, Mick, but at least you had a few good IoM days. biggrin

Perhaps it's better to have a pain in your foot rather than a full time pain in the neck. wink

Six weeks and the English trail season will be just about starting - wet, cool and muddy. shocked.gif

I'm very jealous of you Mike, as we were planning to combine a laning trip with a visit to the Manx GP later this month. Unfortunately the dreaded work has taken over and it will not happen now no

Nice to see you enjoying yourselves there though!

Giles

went into hospital Wednesday night, had the operation Thursday morning which took just over an hr, home Friday afternoon, now for the long boring wait for it to get strong enough to ride again, one of the lads I went to I.O.M with has lent me his mum old electric wheelchair trike to get about on, feel a bit of a pr--k but hell its easier and faster than crutches, been for a blast up the prom today.
