On the exhaust side. Side cover and battery cover there is a silver sticky tape shielding protecting the plastic from melting.. Sort of like the material Dr smiths space suit was made of in the show lost in space.
Without going to Mr Yamaha and paying a fortune, is there anything you guys have used to give the same result.??
For the panels, i use the self adhesive foil insulation sold to fit on walls behind radiators. It lasts a while and hasn't melted yet! Any DIY store would stock it. However, with a good clean up, you should be able to stick yours back down with spray glue - see here
For the battery box, I use self adhesive aluminium tape. It comes in a roll with a peel off backing. This is useful for all sorts of things. eBay or car parts shop - it may be sold as repair tape - see here.
Trouble is that not much can withstand repeated blasts with a power washer
