I've only just got my 2001 TTR and have noticed a problem with the speedo. When I take off for a ride the speedo needle doesn't move but the odometer is clicking over, which suggests to me that the drive cable is doing its job. After some time and a solid whack on the speedo it jumps to life and is OK for the rest of the trip.
Not really keen on pulling the speedo apart, but has anyone any suggestions?
You could take it to a repair place (god knows where) or look for a second hand one. Taking those apart is not an easy task and easy to break something.

Hi. I have a similar problem. My speedo has decided it likes only doing 85mph! The needle has fallen to the righthand side and does not move, but the odometer is working normally.
Has anyone fixed these speedo needle connections? Any tips?
