After riding old 2 strokes when I was young, I decided I wanted to get back into it and do some riding with my kids. I had a '79 Suzuki PE250 and later an '81 PE250.  They are a bit hard to ride in a tame fashion with kids who are learning.  Also, white knuckle riding with the kids is not a good idea. I had started to embark on the restoration of a '82 PE175 thinking it may be more tame than the 250's but that has been looming for years.  I was dreaming about getting a newer bike and read about the different choices. The Kawasaki KDX was always interesting but being out of production, they are not easy to come by in decent condition.  After comparing the WR and TTR I remained conscious that I did not want another rocket ship and the WR's were out of my price range.  Make a long story short, I found a TT-r250 within about one hours drive and went and bought it.  It is pretty clean and has not had a lot of use.  It starts right up and is clean and straight.  After getting it home, I ordered some new Michelin S12 XC tires and so far have installed the rear.  I am excited to take it for a ride!

Peter.

Here are a couple pictures while it was still on the trailer.  Brought it home in the pouring rain!

She looks to be in good condition, Peter. I hope she proves as good as she looks. Do you have good places to ride nearby?

Larry
