Just found this forum which I am sure will be useful for tips and guidance formy 1993 TTR 250 Raid which I bought last September and finally managed to transport here to Idilevo in Bulgaria where I have a house. In the winter I come back to the UK and I live not far from Stratford-upon-Avon but summers are spent enjoying the wild free Bulgarian countryside.
Our little village is also home to Doug's Motocamp - a haven for long distance motorbike travellers where you can either camp or stgay in rooms. We found in in 2011 on a Round the World trip (not on the TTR but on BMW 1200 GS).
Haven't even ridden the TTR yet (too busy renovating the house)but the weather here is starting to get better (28 degrees next week) so it will be time to hit the tracks.
I visited Bulgaria a few times, even spent the millenium new year there.. That was a serious party!!! My TTR looks pretty much like yours but without the proper headlight bracket :( but I'm busy bending and welding up a substitute Great place, lovely people and some awesome riding
Greg, those posts are definitely plumb scary ,,,,, two of the main beams (for some reason) have been separated and the front of the barn (together with the roof) has slid forward about a metre. The barn was like this when we bought the place last year and it survived the winter OK - our architect friend has shown us that we can save the barn easily and we have bought a good chunky piece of threaded bar to join up the two beams and stop any further movement forward.
Anyway, took my first rideout on the litttle beauty yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am used to much heavier bikes so the lightness and quick steering of the front end was a little unnerving at first but good fun.
