Hens teeth - a reasonably priced kickstart?

As above, I don't use her that often so I figure the foot option would be a useful backup. Any ideas?

Other than £££££££ buying new, other options include a Bike Breaker, Ebay, Gumtree and the like. confuse

Another way is to keep your eyes open for another TTR with kickstarter to be advertised - buy it and hope to sell yours straight away.

Another alternative would be for someone to see this thread and offer you one, but don't hold your breath!

Good luck.

Martyn

I suggest looking at starters belonging to other bikes .

The splines are the same on my ttr as on my gasgas and wrf only difference is the tightening bolt .

Im sure one from another more common yam could fit if you look around .

Some of the older yam bikes kickers are available cheap aftermarket .

I'd love to find an alternative, do you reckon the gasgas one could be made to work?

no as they use a bolt on outside threaded into kickshaft  to hold on .

I am sure if you try a good bike shop or breakers you will find one to suit . as long as the splines are the same and the bolt is in the kickstart itself not threaded into kickshaft .

I'd like a kick starter assembly too, always looking!

A nice purple rear wheel would be wonderful too! or even a non-purple.

I reckon i'll see pigs fly before I complete my wish list.

It's not just the kickstart you will need though, its the gear inside the casing too, I am sure this topic has been covered before, I don't think you will find the parts from another model to suit, like has been said they are very rare to find second hand and very expensive new, if you are that keen on a kickstart it would possibly be easyer to find a ttr with one fitted ie. all the blue models. I was looking very hard for a mechanism for the best part of a year with no luck.

Ha! You've got too much time on your hands! I'm gonna keep chipping away. I'm not desperate for one, just liked the idea and in reality it's light enough to bump if all else fails.

Hey Mud, I looked for a kickstarter for over a year now also. Everytime I thought I had found one I got told- it already sold! hmm

I think they are more like rocking horse sh#t as hens teeth aren't as rare (it seems from Martyn's post :)
