oil leak from filter housing???

It's got to be the O ring on the screw confuse - can't be anytyhing else - check the ring and renew as necessary.

Make sure that it's all tightened down evenly on all three screws with nothing twisted/bent or sticking out.

It looks like the bottom is tight and the top is loose that's the best way I can describe it
Which is why I took it all off again but they are al tightened evenly

This may not be your issue but I bought an after-market filter (metal screen type) last year and it was just a bit too long. I noticed that the filter housing plate would not seat properly to the case and would have surely leaked.
I did see this before I actually tested so no harm done really. Took the filter back and got a OE one and all is well now. I assume you are using the OE filter and not some off-the-wall part some rookie parts person sold you.?

+ 1 Martyn.

There is three 0-rings one large, two small.

The large 0-ring is to seal the oil filter cover to the housing (not shown below)

The other small 0-ring seals the delivery pipe.

The other seals the bolt hole in the casing and is also for the oil delivery pipe.

This was when I installed the K&N oil filter...

Quite easy, just unbolt the three 5mm allen keys making sure the three O-rings don't get lost.

Take out the old filter & filter end rubbers.

Install new filter (with the rubbers) making sure that it is the right way around (you should see K&N or a brand name facing out).

Then install the cover making sure the O-rings are seated properly.

Hope that saves you some time (and hairs) biggrin

Hi I Was wondering where I could buy a set of "o rings" from or where you guys normaly get yours from?
As all bolts are where they should be so can only be the o rings??
Supposed to be such a simple job ggggggrrrrr

You can get the O rings mail order from Fowlers or MotoWard - part # 93210-07135 - about £1.30 each plus postage. Else from your local Yamaha dealer post free.
