Brian had been regretting doing nothing but toiling all day with TTRs everywhere so he decided to ask if anyone woull like to have a run out.
I thought that it was some time since I was last out - so I volunteered to go with him.
As did Bob, Rick, Trev and Simon. The Super Six.
All but one of us were riding our TTRs and we left Rick to ride his KTM.
Brian was leader and Trev shared TEC with Simon.
There was an official Line Up but I was late in taking my shot, Brian's wll be better (I hope)
The aptly named Muddy Lane was first lane of the day and this was Rick who got a rather Muddy KTM.
Bob was next ..........
Trev and Brian followed,
And Simon brough up the rear.
Brian then took us along another narrow lane before taking us to the Bike Wash at Crealey Ford.
Unfortunately Bob's TTR let him down by going flat in the rear AGAIN (He had a flat tyre last time he was out too). It pumped up a bit so Bob decided to take an early shower and head for home.
So, we continued as the Famous Five.
The lanes were in fine fettle really, considering the quantity of rain and floods that have blessed Devon the first two months of 2013. The rain had made all the lanes interesting and turned Easy into Technical with gulleys, steps, wash-outs and chasms. Sludge was everywhere too.
This lane was particularly difficult with slate slabs and loose rocks. We stopped for a breather at the end.
The views aroud Tiverton are generally expansive and well worth looking at. Today it was dull and misty, but still worth looking at.
One of the last lanes before lunch was closed (TRO) so we didn't use it.
We had a passable lunch (snack?) and this could almost be the Three Wise Monkeys. Hear All, Read All and Eat All.
After lunch I decided to call it a day. I'd managed to encounter at least two badgers in the lanes and the bike had landed on my right leg on the last one. It took Rick, Trev and Simon to lift the bike off me and shoo the badger away.
I limped all the way home and left the Final Four to continue their day.
Thanks for the invite. Thanks for the chat. Thanks for the laughs. Thanks for looking after me and all the help you gave.
Hope you got home OK, Bob.

Thanks for kicking off the thread Martyn - much appreciated. Glad you got home OK.
It was a tad nippy today and I have made a mental note not to do the Tiverton loop again until it's warmer as there is quite a lot of road work to get onto the lanes from the "wrong" side of Exeter
Nice to get 5 TTRs together for a run - from L-R "Badger" Bob, me with helmet on, "Trout Tickler" Trev, Simon "Chancey" and Martyn "Cubber" :
My local lane, often known as Muddy Lane coz it stays that way even through the hottest driest summers, held a surprise for me today. The sink hole is back Caught me good and proper. I needed help to extract the TTR from a very deep hole. Where did the truck loads of hardcore go that we dumped in there - how do sink holes work? My fellow riders learnt from my experience and took a better route to the side. See video here
Bob (otherwise known as Badger Bob!) was keen to maintain his reputation and took a quick lie down in the lane - he is only just visible hiding behind a blackthorn bush.
Sad to say cheerio to Bob soon after but hopefully he has found the cause of the multiple rear punctures now?
I think only Rik and I went through the Crealy Bike Wash whilst the others took the chicken route
Dandy Lane warmed us up nicely but the road work to the next lane at Silverton soon had us chilled again.
Met some horseriders at the bottom of the cracking Greeenslinch Lane who were a bit apologetic as they thought they shouldn't be using it! One of my favourite lanes with great views at the top - when it isn't foggy.....
There are a lot of deep washouts on the Devon lanes caused by recent heavy rain and it was easy to get caught out!
As Martyn reported, there is a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (prohibition of all traffic) on Brithayes Lane near Bickleigh until 7th March. I should have turned back to get on route again but instead took a very long way around to get into the great Hayne Lane but it was worth the effort. Another of my favourite lanes and an excellent work out!
Thurlescombe Lane was surprisingly tricky and, again, it was easy to get caught out by the new washouts.
We lunched at Morrisons Supermarket cafe but maybe it wasn't wise to choose the £5 main/dessert option - a bit too much for even for me
Rik and Sue had kindly invited us back to theirs for a bite on the way home so a bit of rapid re-routing was done and then, sadly, we said goodbye to Martyn.
Watery Lane s another great lane and not too badly affected by the rains.
Everyone enjoyed Cotton Farm Lane which has now recovered from its repairs and is again quite technical in places.
Scratchface Lane was the last lane on my planned route. Rik took over from here to navigate us back to his place near Pathfinder Village.
I haven't listed all the lanes we rode, only the more interesting ones. The last of these was found to be more than interesting by Trev and Simon I think. Trev looked all in by the time he got back up to the top of the dead-end lane at Oldridge
Soon back to Rik's where Sue had made us some very nice pasta, followed by cake and helped down by a big steaming cuppa
Good ride in great company but I am hanging up my boots now until it warms up a bit!!!!
