Hi guys, new one checking in from Barcelona with a 2 days old (in my hands) TTR 250, actuality it's a 2002 model.

Went for a ride to check the off road abilities and was quite impressed with the little bike. I'll be using it mainly to commute 15km everyday so the knobies have to go, any suggestions for a 50/50 tire? I still want to hit the trails during the weekends.

Photos coming soon.

Welcome, Nuno.

Supermoto TTR riders are raving about Avon Distanzia rubber.

They should be suitable 50/50, but I have no personal knowledge whether they're any good off tarmac. confuse

Hi Cubber, thanks for the welcome!

Going over it again maybe its's better if I go with a 80/20, I only ride hard on the trails just need something that isn't outright dangerous on wet Tarmac.

My TTR is used quite a lot on the road, and much a lot on the trails. biggrin

Trail riders hereabouts tend to use Michelin MT43 rear tyres. They handle and last well on tarmac.
They are road legal in UK, brilliant on the trails and give lots of confidence. wink

For really wet and sludgy going the preference is for Mitas CO2 rear tyre which are more open treaded. They are also UK road legal.

There are lots of discussions on the forums. Ultimately it is all a matter of choice.
