ANOTHER NEWBIE FROM GUILDFORD SURREY !

Hi Guys . It has been illuminating reading your Forum , as my son Charlie and I have just invested in a Raid c1995 ! Had to be that model as Charlie has an eye for "traditional " lines with bikes , so insisted that it should have a round headlight . He is keen to get to Morocco asp but I am attempting to hold back his enthusiasm till we have some experience on the TTR ! We have a pair of BMW Gs650s and an 800Gs , so have been out there posing for some years  . Both types are too heavy offroad though  So we have always kept an eye on uber light machines and have now gone and done it . The only time I've been off road was on Dartmoor and took a spill at zero mph not having the bottle to throttle over a boulder. Bit embarrassing but little harm done . I still look forward to some light trailing myself , but Charlie is really keen ! Hoping to see some the Surrey guys about soon . Tim

Welcome to the forum Tim (and Charlie)!

There is quite an active TRF group in Surrey and they are regular vistors to Devon so you should have plenty of opportunity to put the Raid throught its offroad paces wink

Well Hi there "Young Lad" - but is the young bit  Tim or is it Charlie? confuse

Given time, patience and oportunity you will soon gain confidence to get over obstacles, rocks, puddles and things.

There is plenty of opportunity in Surrey to enjoy your Raid.

Martyn

Don't delay in getting over to Morocco, did it a couple of years ago with my wife on a GSA.

Great country but getting very popular.

Plenty of great info available on UKGSER on the subject.

Hi Tim, welcome aboard.  Me and my TTR (and Vstrom) are just down the road in Hindhead. Hope to join a few TRF rides this year.  Morocco sounds great.

Cheers, Paul
