However, now that I have it, I can't find where to plug those connectors in?
I have taken off the seat, gas tank, and side plates, and traced out all the wiring expecting to find somewhere to plug this in, but nothing. The owners manual for this year shows it has a tail light, the microfiche shows a tail light, but no luck finding how to hook it up.
So, my questions are:
1. Should this model HAVE a tail light? NOTE: It is not a street legal version. No odometer, etc.
2. If so, there should be some pre-existing harness to plug those three connectors into, I assume? Can someone tell me where that is that hidden, if so? It can't be too far away from the back of the seat...the wiring will barely reach the CDI under the seat.
3. A little off topic, but what is the difference between a TTR250P and TTR250PC...I see both of those part numbers referenced for a 2002 model but have been unable to find the difference. Not sure which one I have.
I am not going to be able to help much as the US wiring loom is quite a bit different to the UK model but, just in case, here is a pic showing where the tail light connectors plug in on our TTRs. We also have double connectors as our two (always on) number plate connections also fit into the loom at the same spot.
The thinner black bit of loom you see exiting right from the pic is for the LH indicator.
Sounds like you have the right tail/brake light unit but the US bikes came with only the tail light hooked up. There IS a small branch of the main harness that should feed the tail light, I also connected the brake light (additional wire & switch) to get mine on the road. The feed is in the same place as Brian shows it & you can see it in some pics from my conversion. I'll try to look today & double check wire colors & where it exits the main harness. It would be easy enough the put back if someone has cut the wires, just tap off of the switched feed for the headlight (yellow wires if I recall).

Mystery solved. Unwrapped the black electrical tape from the wiring going to the CDI, and there were the severed wires.... the previous owner DID cut them off. So, no problem to rewire now that I found these. Thanks for the help!
Hmm, previous owner must have removed the wiring, I guess. I find NOTHING like that..but I am not even seeing where the OLD wiring might have been.
I assumed it would be pretty obvious...your replies pretty much confirm what I thought....the wiring has been removed.
I know where the headlight wiring and light switch wiring is. Would be easy enought to tap into, I just didn't want to do that to only find out i could have used an existing wiring harness.
Glad you found it. I went & looked at mine & had planned to take a photo but wasn't quick enough I guess. Interesting that it looks like you have 3 wires from the harness as I seem to remember only two when I opened mine up to add the brake light. The wiring diagram I have even shows the yellow wire from the tail light as not connecting to anything.

As far as i know they all have three.
The blue wire is tailight/ number plate
The yellow is the brake light.
The black one is an earth for the numberplate/tailight/brake
Note: The brake & tailight have the same earthing (grounding) point so only one black wire is needed.

I hooked up all three and the taillight works when light switch is flipped on. Brake light does not work when brakes are applied, but I think that is by design. There are no wires going down the brake lever, and this is not a street legal version TTR.

I'm not sure waht you mean by this but im guessing that you have a wire wrong if the tailight works when the brake is applied.
Anyway your sorted? i think.
