Hello everybody,

I am based in Twickenham and I recently picked up an '05 model (the same deal from tracksense that Lama mentions in his post) having picked up the bug after various off-road schools and guided trailriding days. This is all very new to me so I'd love to meet up and ride with folk in the Surrey Hampshire M3 / A3 area. Any ideas on routes / places to avoid would be great!

I have just got a tow bar fitted and wondered if anybody have thoughts on the pros and cons of transporting with trailers vs racks?

Looking forward to seeing some of you out there some time!

Pete

Welcome to TTR land and the trail world Pete.

My advice, to enable enjoyment of your machine and trailing, would be to contemplate joining the TRF.
Get in touch with your local group, CLICKY LINK - if it's not Somerset then you can link to the national TRF site from there.

I enjoy trailing in the sure knowledge that I'm not trespassing where I shouldn't be. wink

Tow bars or trailer is debatable dependant on your towing vehicle. I've managed my bikes with an old Mini - but that used a trailer, which I still use.
I wouldn't like the thought of a TTR and rack on just the the tow ball - a tad heavy, methinks. confuse

Martyn

Welcome to the forum Pete, as martyn said I wouldn't really recommend putting the ttr on a rack, a trailer would be best.
The ttr's are quite capable on the road though so if possible I would try and seek out local trails to save having to ship the bike around.

Adam.

Cheers Martyn, and Adam. TRF sounds like a good plan, and I think trailer may be the easier option from a loading/unloading point of view. Best Pete

Hi Pete,
I have a collapsable 2 bike trailer from dave cooper trailers. A bit more expensive than a normal fixed axle but I dont have anywhere for it to live so I remove the axle and put the frame upright against the wall in my garage.

It is certainly easier than trying to get the bikes up on to the back of my brothers L200 Warrior and I can manage on my own with a bit of a knack now.
