I have actually done their Trail riding training in middlesex on these bikes, my first ride on a TTR. They do get dropped a lot by folks learning how to ride off road.
They are MOT'd every year and they use these bikes for trail riding days as well so they need to be maintained as customers are using them all the time.
I was very tempted when I received the email last month about the bikes being up for sale but ended up getting an older bike as a project.
Here is the email we were sent : Sent: 16/12/2012 15:33 GMT To: "Track Sense" Subject: Used TT250R's & off road clothing now available
Hello All,
Following on from our email a couple of months ago, we have already sold 2 of our Yamaha TT250Rs, but we now have 3 more prepped and ready for sale (and should have the last 5 of our bikes ready to go early in the new year)… If you want to view the bikes, please get in touch.
Here are the details on the 3 bikes that are ready to go…
3 x 2005 (05 Reg.) Yamaha TT250R: £1500 each – no offers.
All bikes are “cosmetically challenged” with scuffs & scratches all over, so if you are looking for a mint road bike, these will not interest you. However, if you use a bike for trail riding, it will get scuffed & scratched anyway – so buying a mint bike for trail riding is pretty pointless, and these bikes will be ideal for you – especially buying one of these will save the £500 or so that it costs to covert & prepare a street bike for off road use!
All 3 bikes are UK spec with one private owner from new, have covered 2000 to 3000 miles from new,
All 3 have 1 month MOT and have 7 months road tax.
All will pass another MOT no problem – we can get a new MOT if you want us to, but an extra cost of £30 (to cover the MOT) will apply.
All are mechanically sound and run as they should, all are fully equipped and prepared for off road use (see below for more info), and all have just been serviced and checked over by us.
Each bike has been serviced every 6 months from new and all are fitted with alloy sump guard, Renthal bars, Acerbis hand guards, off road tyres, heavy duty inner tubes, rim locks front & rear, Acerbis enduro headlight, unbreakable number plate, mini speedo, washable air filter skin and all have airbox & exhaust mods to improve power & throttle response (the exhausts are only very slightly louder than stock and still pass an MOT no problem).
A kit of brand new original parts will be supplied with each bike – these parts were removed by us when the bikes were brand new and have been stored since then. A kit of new/original parts comprises indicators, headlight, handlebars, mirrors, hand guards, rear grab rails, seat strap, tool kit, kick-start lever, number plate brackets and owners handbook.
A few spare parts are also available at extra cost if required.
Used off road clothing also available...
Helmet £10 to £20 (depending on condition), Quickstrap goggles £10, gloves £5, knee guards £5, boots £20, Knox upper body armour shirt (washable shirt with back protector, chest protector and armour for shoulders & elbows) £20, motocross shirt £10, enduro jacket £20 to £30 depending on condition and enduro trousers £10 to £20 (depending on condition). We also have some brand new items of clothing available at extra cost.
And 5 more bikes will be available in Jan 2013…
Most of these are basically exactly the same as the bikes described above except that they will have 12 months MOT but no road tax. Again, the price will be £1500 each. We will email everyone again as soon as these bikes have been checked & serviced and are ready to go.
Cheers for the info. They sound a decent enough buy at the money, and they wouldn't hire out sheds now would they! I'm not looking for a mint bike anyway. I think I'll sleep on it.
Cheers.
