Front sprocket cover - sounds like a daft question

This sounds like a daft question but how the hell do I get the front sprocket cover off?

Can't seem to get mine off.

If you got a manual picture would be helpful smile

Not sure if you have the ''purple'' bike or blue but blue comes off like this...

Three 10mm bolts...(arrows in pic point to them)..

Once these are removed it comes off...

Then there is the chain protector,it just comes straight out..

Maybe someone could do one on the ''purple'' bike if they have one wink

I have just looked through my spares box and found a cut down cover - see pic below.

It's yours for £3 inc p&p if you want it. Saves you cutting yours up!

The purple ones are slight more complicated due to the magnetic speedo pick up been on the end of the sprocket.
Basically you need to remove the cover then take off the speedo magnet by undoing the middle nut then remove the rest of the bolts and take off the rest of the cover.

Just to clean the sprocket having to dismantle the electronic speedo pickup seems abit daft

It is a nuisance but you could cut down the cover to make cleaning easier. It is only hard plastic.

After market aluminium covers are available here if need be.

This is best I can do but it shows the parts and how they disassemble:

Just get in there with a 5mm Allen key and you will see how it comes apart Sammy wink

I'll check my bank balance Brian and see what I can do think just finding it difficult at moment not having job, it just needs cleaning out soonish, might have a tinker with it tomorrow and see what I can get out.

have attempted to have a go yet as been abit busy and weather is crap here might have a tinker Friday and just that in the for sale section if you want

found some pictures from a rebuild thread on here off the speed so the magnet is held onto the sprocket spline with a nut undo that and the Allen keys set screws should all come off.

Also chain slider near front sprocket easy job to replace simple bolt on and bolt off job.
