Had to take the bike in for its MOT on Friday. On the way back I thought I would have a detour to a little beach at Slaggan Bay.
The track is a public highway, so ok to ride on
The track is in very good condition, this is about as bad as it gets.
At the end of the track is the no deserted crofting township of Slaggan. Only this ruin left now. In need of some modernisation is I think how the estate agents may describe it.
Leave the bike at the gate and a short walk takes you to the bay.
There were lots of footprints in the sand below the high water mark but no one about. I did wonder where all these people had come from and gone to as it was only a couple of hours after high tide.
Found these 'bones' in the sand.
It made a nice change to ride a different track, and the sun was shining too !!!
Sunday was spent floating around trying out some new dry suits with the Coastguard team at Ardmair. Water temp was around 11'C so was glad of the dry suit.
Made it back to land ok.
Then it was off for a float down a dry river. It was the deepest bit we could find after all the dry weather we have had.
Perhaps it's what you want for those deep river crossings in winter. It was a good, fun day with the lads.
