TTR250 custom made MOTARD WHEELS & TYRES
Permalink

Hi there, my TTR250 wheels are for sale on ebay, starting at $1300.
Details:
Custom Built
Road or Motard wheels and tyres

to suit a
Yamaha TTR250

Custom built by a professional motorcycle shop to suit the bike but have only covered about 50km (on public roads only). As such, the tyres are still virtually new. The package cost nearly $2000.

These wheels are the perfect way to transform an already great trail bike into a fantastic, fuel-efficient commuter. The extra traction and confidence that you have when riding the bike on these 17 inch rims is a HUGE improvement over dual sport tyres on standard 21/18 inch rims. The safety improvements are obvious.

Inspections welcome. Pickup from Bossley Park, NSW or I can have ready for a courier organised by the buyer.

Thanks Brian!

Unfortunately the bike is now gone, but this is what it looked like with the road setup (about 30 minutes to fit!)

@KMAN, they are BEHR wheels, the front has an Aprilla logo and the rear has a KTM logo.

The pictures show the front is 17 x 3.50, and the rear 17 x 4.25.. think thats correct.

But it kinda looks like this guy laced these rims to ttr hubs.. cause the hubs look a lot like the dirt ones that I had

Let me know if you need any more

Hi guys, this thread is a blast from the past.

@Charles, yes the hubs are original TTR hubs. I found them very difficult to get a hold of at the time, but well worth the effort and the expense to get them built up.

I miss that ride, especially with the road setup.

Thought so ! They are so so good on the TTR, very lucky to get the bike back

Did you sell these wheels to someone in Newcastle ? Thats where I bought the bike with them in the package.

Glad you like them, I'll never ride on the road with dirt tyres again after seeing the difference these made.
Lucky to get the bike back? Not sure that I follow.

It's been a while, not sure where they went to, but I do believe they were posted somewhere (not local). But I am confident that those were mine (aprilia and ktm rims).

Wow yeah lucky you, off road stuff rarely finds its way back to the owner. To add to the pain, we don't always have insurance on them either.

Exactly! Had no insurance or anything so thought I lost it all

Here it is before and after, still doesn't look too bad

One question @poida, or anyone else who would know..

How do you fix the incorrect speed given on the speedo due to the wheel change? I need to find a way to fix it because my km's go up way faster too, i went from 4000 to 10000 in not very long at all

Thanks

Looks like you escaped without any damage to it, nice.

Off memory I fit (or had plans to fit) a cheap digital speedo to use instead. Not an elegant solution but it would do the job. I didn't get to do much riding on the road to be worried about the extra kms that the bike clocked up.

Otherwise to change the factory speedo you would need to mess with gears, if they are even available for it.

I now remember one reason why I used the TTR hubs, especially on the front wheel: it meant that I didn't need to mess around with adapter plates for the brake caliper. Very quick to switch back to an off-road configuration compared to other motard setups that I saw.
