Same thing happened to me Tried to use Selleys Knead-it (metal repair) but it ended up braking off So what i did was find a small flat piece of alloy (could use steel) cut to size and drilled two small holes in it. Top one for the pin and bottom one for the carby. Then drilled a small hole through the carby where it broke off the float mount NOTE: the hole in the carby float mount is a pre-drill hole so don't make it too big for the small self tapper. Next i filed down the part where it broke (float mount) until it was flat enough to screw the piece of metal to the carb (with self tapper). Screwed the self taper in and job done. Just make sure it is not interfering with any other parts. If you make the hole in the metal plate (made as discribed) the right size the pin should push in and out easily. The reason he broke it is because it seems that they only come out one way (not the way i tried)
I uploaded some pics to make it easier to understand. The float bowl pic is just to show the repaired drain screw that i might add works a treat
