Yes she looks like shes got a load, but there is a fuel tank there with a strap on pannier system over the top. The items are only some wet weather gear and the weight of the fuel. about 9 kilos maybe. Heres some more pics of the system. It needs some fine tunning, but it works great, so far.
Yes I went alone...Gave my missus the route plan though...
Yes...I have a good phone..I must admit, i ride alone alot...Only because there usually isnt anyone else to go with. Besides it clears the head. I had a little agenda with this ride though, because the last time I did this route I did come off and twisted the triple tree on a KLR...I needed to do it on the ttr to "get back on the horse"...This ride I had no issues...I love the ttr, its a light nimble ride with good balance...The bigger bikes just feel too top heavy on gravel...What are the rides like in your neck of the woods?
I someties ride out on my own - but I take a mobile phone for any emergencies.
I don't do more than daylight trail riding and usually I'm out for between 3 and 6 hours at a time. Much longer and I get tired.
My lonesome rides are usually within a 10 mile radius of home. I have a choice of LOTS (Hundreds) of trails all catalogued and proven by the Trail Riders Fellowship (TRF) which is very active in Devon.
Here are some of my reports on this forum, take a look:-
if in devon i can offer bed and breakfast at the white hart inn at wilmington near honiton 01404 831446 or just a place to meet up before going out for a ride
You sound like a lucky man!! hundreds of trails so close to home..We have to travel some distance to get much riding in. If im ever in Devon, I will look you fellas up for a ride. Bed and breakfast sounds really good as well Crazychef! That would be great! Cheers...
