Well I'm the proud owner of a trusty 98 TTR Open Enduro..
Cost $1550 off the trading post (same publication that I found the wife.... but that is another story )
Since then I have had the forks resealed and oiled(on the bike, not the wife), the rear shock rebuilt (thanks to Hoey Racing in Adelaide), front wheel trued, new 50/50 Dunlops, new double sided spark plug, oil, filter, top chain roller, new sprockets and chain 14 44, Scott Grips and LED indicators from Hong Kong.
This all leads me to the following questions for the gurus!
1. the old girl is running rich and the old plug is all sooted up after only a week of riding. the new plug has made a huge difference but I would like to adjust the mix, where is the adjuster screw situated???... it's dark under there!
2. I was given the indicator flasher unit by the fella that sold the bike to me and he didn't actually say where it came from . It fits 2 plugs under the fuel tank, one with 2 cables going to it and one with three, the flasher unit is a FE246BH. Now I'm not expecting the LED's to flash just yet (without resistors) but the LED's stay on with the flasher plugged in and unplugged from either of the available plugs... don't make sense to me. How does the flasher actually work in the circuit?... p.s. the Hong Hong LEDs look great .
3. Roughly how many k's do riders get from your 9 Litre tanks?
Keep on Truckin....er ridin

Welcome JuJu!
Purple arrow shows adjuster. I usually wind the screw right in, put a spot of Tippex on the knurled nut to help show its location and then unwind it about 2 turns. Works for me
It looks like this post of yours got missed, JuJu!
The mixture screw is a star shaped adjuster which is awkwardly positioned at the front of the carb. float bowl just above the starter motor and between the carb. and the engine's cooling fins.
If you look at this video link you will see how the screw is adjusted and alters the mixture. LINKY THINGY
Your indicators not working is a problem that baffles me - someone may have a solution, but I don't.
I get around 120 km out of a tankfull of fuel with my 10 litre tank. It depends how much roadwork/trailing I do - getting more per litre on the road than trail. I guess you would get arount 9/10 of my kms, say 105-110 km, from your 9 litre tank.
Thanks Brian, I tried your technique the after my Sunday ride. I took it for a quick spin this morning to see how it goes and seems to be running better. My brother also had a ride and couldn't believe how well it's running. He helped me buy the bike s few weeks back. He said it's like riding a new bike. Well it bloody well should, I have spent a grand on it this past 2 weeks!
