13 front, 50 rear feels great.

just thought i would let you guys know that 13 front, 50 rear feels great.

front wheel lifts with throttle in first and on second gear change.

top speed is over 100km/h still (great in case i have to travel anywhere on pavement between tracks)

more response down low without sacrificing too much up top.

chain guide block didnt need to be lowered, but i might do it just in case.

axl snail thingys are about half way around, plenty of room for adjustment.

overall im very pleased. finally.

Dave - I've also just swapped to the 13/50 ratio having followed your posts with interest!

I fitted the new sprockets and chain yesterday and went out this morning in the Peak district - it is like riding a different bike! biggrin

The acceleration is punchy and effective low down, just what I needed and the front wheel lift is perfect for some of our awkward steps and boulder gardens.

yeah and the top speed is still quite good for cruising the highway on the way to those wheelie trails. im very happy with the gearing change. glad to hear you are too.

nah looks like it juuuuuuust fits. i think a 52 would require it to be lowered. i personally would file the actual removable block thing made of steel, not the part on the swingarm that it attaches to if i filed anything.

Yep, the lower chain guide is fine next to a 50 rear, any bigger would probably require an adjustment.

Well pleased with the new ratio!

I am going to change mine as well as you know it's hard to get the front end in the air sometimes, what brands did you buy and where did you get them

i got them on ebay. i got them from a shop in brisbane i cant remember the name, metalgear or something. there will be heaps of them from the shop on there. you will see it for sure. $50 bucks for rear. cant remember how much for front.

I did the same and after running 14/44 and 13/46 the 13/50 combination has completely changed the bike.  I am impressed.
