new to the forum, living in the NSW Southern Highlands, south of Sydney.
been riding a 2000 model ttr for about 6 month/2500km. bought stock but now has a few mods, with more to come. were having the wettest "summer" i have seen in years and years so i will probably find some time to start a thread about my bike.
Hello Alex and welcome, (or should that be G'day.)
It is still wet, cold and dark here in the UK - the days are getting longer but not really that you can notice. Roll on summer.
I have a 2000 TTR too, but mine's more or less bog standard. I've had it nearly two years and it's been very reliable. I've enjoyed every minute of it.
I read that you have fitted a larger tank on yours and are looking for fastenings. Can you not remove the blue tank fastenings and adapt them to fit?
i could definitely swap the parts from my blue tank over but it would be a much cleaner install on the big tank if i could modify the parts to suit it only, without having to worry about them being able to go back onto the original.
with the acerbis tank being fairly wide it has already taken a couple of big hits on rocks when i'v dropped the bike. I need to be able to put my blue tank straight back on should the worst happen.
the parts are avalable new from yamaha, for a total cost of about $300AU :O
if i cant get second hand parts i will probably just fabricate some to suit, or see if another brand (honda or kawasaki probably) uses a similar system and sells parts for a more realistic price.
