The 16th/17th of October is fast approaching and I'll be loading my bike on the trailer and heading for Llandovery, Mid Wales. It doesn't seem to matter how many of these events I do, I always get edgey as the date gets closer ... or is that excitement. Either way there is always a sense of relief when you've signed on and your bike has passed scrutineering and you only need to wait for your start time. Its just one day for me on the Cambrian this year; 3 laps and about a hundred miles. Usually there are a few tough bits on the two day events but its generally fairly easy riding and there are two timed test on each lap. The time that your allowed to complete each section of the course is usually quite lenient and at the end of the day, its rewarding if you manage to finish. This will be only my second event on the TTR250 having entered many events across the uk on the thundering 600 Belgarda.
These events are a great place to test your bike and your riding skills and compete in your class. Or just go for a blast and to enjoy the scenery. If you only enter once its well worth it for the experience. The Cambrian is a great place to start and there are always loads of people to help along your way at these friendly events. There are still places for the 2011 Cambrian and info and entry forms can be found here; http://www.wtra.co.uk/cambrian.htm. It would be great to see more TTRs on the circuit.
