my 1993 ttr blows the fuse with no real reason started mid enduro and everything has been checked ie stator, ignition, rectifier, all conections thought i had solved it but after 50 miles started again as soon as you switch ignition on it blows.
after sitting at side of track for half an hour tried yet another fuse and has been fine since.
I have tried moving all the wires when swithed on and turned all curcuits on and of but the sod will not blow.
Have another enduro on sat and sods law will blow fuse at furthest point fron pits.
Any clues please as girlfriend thinks i moved out as i been in the garage so much.
I have not had anything to do with the wiring/ fuses on my ttr, if you could get hold of a wiring diagram then you can see what is connected to the fuse and try and check each item, possibly corroded or watervin a multi plug? Short to earth on the wiring some where? Intermittent electrical faults can be a pain to fix as you well know!
What about the rear light unit? I can imagine water could build up in there and cause a short circuit? You really need a amp meter to see what the circuit is drawing. Good luck!
Usual place for wires to fray are between headlight and steering head - where they flex. Start checking here - really pull and yank to see if the fuse blows or circuits cut out. Other than that it could be a fusty joint which would require unclipping, cleaning, Vaseline coating and re-connecting. Perseverence will find it - be patient. Martyn
The frame peeled away as if someone had attacked it with a giant tin opener lol will get the welder out tomorrow. the enduro was a great laugh bit tired and sore today though.
