Hi to all forum members. My brother and I each bought 2010 model TTRs and shipped them to the Philippines (where he lives) Since 2003 we have been touring the Philippines by motorcycle for a month each year, usually doing around 3,000km each time. We had been riding locally-bought Yamaha XT Serows (and they are a great little bike) but last year decided we needed the longer legs the TTR gives.
The luggage racks are made in the US by Cycleracks (http://www.cycleracks.com/) When we bought the TTRs I spent many hours searching for suitable racks. The Cycleracks product was the only one of a sufficient size, very good company and very well made rack. However the support stay down each size restricts the pillion passengers footpeg access. Not a problem for me as I rarely carry a pillion but my brother often does. Problem resolved by welding a 20mm extension into the rear foot peg.
Another pic of my bike being transferred ashore after sailing from Camotes Is to Leyte. Tense moment coming up as the locals attempt to wheel it along the gangplank without deep-sixing it....
