FMF Powercore 4 with quiet core thoughts
Permalink

So I've recently fitted a shiny new FMF Powercore 4 along with a FMF quiet core.

Previously I'd fitted another after market pipe but was unhappy with the results. I think it flowed worse than the stock pipe and I needed to lower the needle (or raise the clip) to the highest setting to work properly. I decided to pony up and go for a real straight through performance pipe. For the the sake of my eardrums (and my neighbours) I also purchased the quiet core.

After a quick ride I immediately noticed an improvement in power along with the sweet basey burble that the FMF pipes are known for. Not too loud at all either.  I raised the needle back to the stock position (147 main jet) and it all really came together. It now feels like there is more power everywhere in the rev range, particularly in the mid to high revs. The bike also sounds fantastic and weighs around 2 kg less than it used to. All in all, not a bad day for the old TTR.

JBS footpegs. Around 32 NZ pesos for a set. Niot bad... but not great. Need drilling out to fit the TTR. Haven't broken yet so thats always good.
