Tank Decals

Hi guys, the right tank decal is blistered, anyone had this, tried to work the air out but it keeps coming back, this bike is pretty tidy apart from this decal, checked with Yamaha & they want $586 for the pair of decals....no way

I have ordered a set of Ballards decals for $60 but may put them away for a bit & wait for a major failure of the decal, gives me the Sh*ts looking like that, any ideas

Get onto any graphics company they should be able to make copies off your photos. Should be able to get about a dozen sets made for the price Yamaha want!!!
Business opportunity right there.
I use willmax graphics and been happy with their quality on a few different bikes.

before you put the new ones on...
put them on the floor/carpet and prick them with pin holes
lots of pin holes to let the benzine gas exscape...
benzine gas from the fuel leches though the plastic tank...

Suzuki do that with all there decals that go on plastic tanks...

I send an email last night as it shows on their "GONE RIDING CATALOGUE" page 26 but not online, they rang me today, James said they get them made to order but had a set ready to go. I thought best to get them while I could.

You can download the catalogue or request one with an order, I get all my tyres from them, delivered to my door.

Ballards & MXSTORE are as one now, good guys to deal with.

Cheers Terry

Hey Terry

www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sticker-Kit-for-Yamaha-TTR90-TTR125-TTR250-Tank-Decals-Vinyls-TTR-90-125-250-/121098047617

I bought and used this one - been on the bike for 5 years and no sign of bubbling or lifting at all. It's really thick vinyl and perforated.

The prices for stickers from yamaha is a classic - I bought a new headlight cowl for I think $70 or thereabouts - the white sticker was $80 or something. Pretty crazy. Needless to say it motivated me to make my own.

Cheers Leigh.

Hi Terry,

About 5 years ago I bought a Decal Set, via the Totally TTRs Shop, from D&D Graphics.
The link was on the FAQ side of the Website under "Tidying up your TTR" or some such.
The Tanks Decals are really thick with perforations all over them so that the fuel vapours can escape.
I think that if you fit any non-perforated decals you are wasting your money.
I got a few bubbles at the start but there are so many perforations, you simply push the bubble towards the nearest hole and it disappears.
The Set came with all sorts of other decals that I used and those also still look good today. Quality stuff.
The Decal Set wasn't cheap but if you want, especially the Tank ones to last, this was the way to go, in my opinion.
I think there are additional Suppliers mentioned on the TTRs Website, since I bought mine.

On a recent visit to Aussie I went to the MX Store in Burleigh Heads and got great service.
As age creeps up on you, you seem to lose alot of the "padding" in the bum so was on the look out for some padded shorts, which they sorted me out with.
Also bought some Ultra Thick Inner Tubes which should just about knock punctures on the head.
Really good guys, with a shop full of trick gear.
Geoff Ballard wasn't there, the day I visited them.

Cheers
Jeff

I have a set of perforated tank decals waiting to go on. Is there any hope of removing the fuel staining from the tank sides or is the stain continuous from the inside out?
