Oil level sight glass leak
Permalink

Hi, my '99 ttr has started to leak oil (wetting) from the sight glass near to rear brake lever.

I was looking in yamaha's part book in case there is a part but haven't found anything.

Probably the sight seal has dried.

Does anyone had the same experience as this case of leakage ?

Is this seal replaceable ? If not, what can i do to prevent the worst... ?

Thank you
Pavlos

How unfortunate. hmm

I think I've seen a thread that TTRfan did on the boards regarding this problem but a quick search hasn't come up with it.

Not to disappoint you I trolled Youtube and found this CLICKY repair quite similar on a YamWR250R which may be of use.

Good luck and please let us all know the results.

Martyn

I think this is the sight glass thread you remember Martyn http://ttr250.activeboard.com/t63258863/leaking-sight-glass-on-front-brake-reservoir/?page=1#lastPostAnchor

It looks like you can buy a new sight glass - see https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/parts/view/3Y1-15361-00
