Starter motor buzz

Hello all again. My beloved TTR which i have spent days cleaning and servicing and vowed never to get dirty is wearing my patience. With no notice when the starter button is pressed all i hear is a buzzing noise from the starter, all was fine last time it was used, the battery shows 12.6V on a meter and connections are tight. Any advise Please, Please, Please.blankstare

Thanks for any assistance

Malcolm Woods

Bridge the two large terminals on the solenoid with a screwdriver (make sure its out of gear).

If the battery and starter are good it should turn the engine over in which case the solenoid may be suspect.

If it doesn't it's probably something simple like stuck or worn brushes.

Brian

PS Take a chill pill Malcolm - it really isn't that much of a problem wink

Turns out that despite my multi meter reading 12.6v i put a battery charger on over night, and hey presto its working. rushed out today and bought a automatic battery charger. Hope that fixes it. Thanks Brian.
