i was cleaning and greasing my bike when I noticed that the kickstand is very sloppy. It has a lot of play in it and I'm wondering if it should be like that or if the bushing is bad. are they supposed to be like that? Thanks.

It's a very common issue caused by the kickstand bouncing up and down if the TTR is used off road. The dirt gets in between the frame and the U joint on the stand and wears away the mating surfaces.

The movement on the stand can be reduced by drilling the spring mount a little further up so that the tension on the spring is increased. See videos here http://ttr250.activeboard.com/t60490598/floppy-side-stand/

Also, check the replaceable bush as they can wear and it's easy to fit a new one.  See http://totallyttrs.com/epages/699105d9-e4cc-4b32-b236-84e72cd67f84.sf/en_GB/?ObjectID=1718301

A trickier repair is to remove the sidestand and MIG a line of weld on the frame's stand mount to tighten things up. See http://ttr250.activeboard.com/t55111237/side-stand-free-play/

Hope that helps

Brian
