I have just had an email from a customer about the mudguard brace I sell in the shop, it states that the holes in the back of the bracket do not line up with the holes in the mudguard/ fork fixings. I have sold loads of theses and not heard of this, but on inspection they do not line up properly. So my question is what did all the people who bought these do? there must be loads of you on here, so some feedback would be appreciated, what did you all do?

I am always grateful of feedback.

The holes on the brace are slotted to give a "universal" fit but, as seems to be the case for TTRs, if the holes don't line up it is a two-minute job to adjust them with a round file as Daniel says.

I have a couple of chainsaw files which are really "sharp" and make short work of ally or steel wink

I bought one from you Steve, and it is still hanging on the garage wall!

Three reasons - the first was because, as you say, the bolt holes didn't quite line up. Second reason - I bought a new fender at the same time as well, and I decided that as it looked so nice that I didn't want to drill it and fit the brace after all.

Third - and I don't want to sound mean, but the brace didn't strike me as being of fantastic quality to be honest. It looked like a fairly cheap, stamped part, with a bit of a 'sharp' ridge around the underside where it has been stamped out from a sheet, if you see what I mean.

I didn't send it back to you because I'm always tinkering with something or another in the garage, and I can see it being cut up and used for something else on a car or bike one day in the future!!! Can't have too many spare odds and sods lying around one's man cave, right?! :D

I recently bought one-off Steve.

As above, took a bit of filing (£3ish from Wilco's) but fits great now. Adds alot of strength to the front fender which is useful for me for carrying the tool bag or the D lock on the front.

The brace it's self is as sturdy as you would expect a plate sheet to be! Not sure what kind of quality you're expecting for a tenner? I think they look good and does what it says on the tin.

Overall I'm please with it 😁
