Can't Ride the TTR 250 all year
Permalink

I found this TTR 250 Forum and its been a great help in turning a rough 2005 into a  dual sport bike.................in my world, thats riding hundreds of miles of dirt back roads for a few days, or sometimes just an after noon.

I sent Brian pictures of what my riding pals and I do when the snow is on the ground and its freezing cold.   I used to have a WR450 Yam for 4 years as a snow bike, then to enjoy better electric start and EFI I stepped up to a KTM 500 XCW as a snow bike.   This last summer I converted the KTM back to dual sport bike and spent a week in the mtns of Montana and IDaho riding back road.  I became evident to me after a week on the 500 single, that I really only need a 200-300cc bike,  that let me to buying the TTR 250 to turn into a dual sport bike and put the Ktm 500 back to so snow duty only.

Do you find the seat on the TTR more comfortable than the KTM? I rode a few mates KTMs and was always glad to get back onto the TTR.

all the KTM  have  CONCRETE  seats.  I run a  ENDURO ENGINEERING SEAT on the KTM  ( $119  low soft model ),    get tough or die if you ride the KTM stock.  My KTM 200 woods bike has my own version of softer and wider,   works ok.........$300 will buy better, I'm too cheap for that.

wow i had no idea you could turn dirtbikes into those snow bikes(i guess thats what you'd call em) living in aus i can say ive never ever seen something like that but maybe im just ignorant, would be a blast to ride im guessing ive only ever seen snow mobiles. I guess we don't get enough snow for those snow bikes.
