I picked up all the brackets from Alco today.

Hopefully I will be getting all the nuts bolts and washers sorted Monday and should be taking photographs for the fitting instructions.

Will also be making a Video! (something new for a fitting kit)

Just got to bribe Bri with some Pasties and biscuitsbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

One thing that was impossible to do, was use the original brackets that were on my bike and, as there are a few different type of brackets and some people may have aftermarket ones, I thought that there was no use in me supplying different indicator brackets with the kits.

Here is what Brian and myself came up with quickly, with a bit of strap band I had lying around in the garage, a better bracket could easily be made up, but gives you a good idea.

By the way it was so cold outside today, we put the bike in my kitchen! Lucky Lisa was at workwink

Nice to have the tank fitted to my own bike, really great and does not feel much bigger, also it sits down as low as possible, making centre of gravity the best that could ever be achieved!

I had great fun yesterday taking photos and videos of Steve fitting the tank on his TTR in his kitchen! Nice and warm with a lovely Devonshire pasty for lunch wink

Well done guys! Looks really well thought through kit. Glad your fabricator got there eventually.
Every kitchen should have a bike in it. What better place to work - clean, dry and next to the kettle and microwave for tea and pasties

I had a 19 litre tank on my ttr, and ran it down to reserve. When i filled it up again, it only took 9 litres meaning 1 had 10 litres in reserve. I don't know what tap you have in it, but i removed the gauze filter on mine, and kept cutting the pipe on the tap until i had about 4 litres in reserve and then replaced the gauze.

I recieved the Totally TTR mounting kit yesterday and fitted it to the bike tonight, It looks great and is solid however due to the parts i have fitted to the oe i came across a few stumbles along the way but overall really pleased :)

Raid seat
As Simon said the raid seat wouldn't fit. The corners of the front of the seat conflicted with the tank which meant that the lower seat catch couldn't reach, I have a feeling if the corners were chamfered the seats profile may not be too much of an issue? Its hard to tell unless I risk this seat.
Lucky for me I had a spare oe seat too use, I may need to modify the width for long distance comfort.

Oil cooler
I run one on the oe, when mounting the tank the right hand side hits the cooler, so I decide to make a quick simple bracket to allow for a 10mm or so clearance. After notifying Steve he made a few suggestions and gave me some advice.
As you will see I'm pretty crap with the metal work but I eventually managed to mount it after extending 50% of the holes i drilled haha
If the dimensions are of any use to anyone, please make sure you have a circular file the sketch is pretty rough to be honest!

Indicator
As Steve and Brian stated the indicators need tweaking to avoid conflicts, I just used two mole grips for a very bodged and stupid look haha

Fuel
I am still working on a fuel line route, its difficult as things are tight around the carb, the level difference between the tap and carb inlet are fairly small and I'm trying to fit a filter and they all seem to large.

Review
Now that I have worked through a few minor issue I am really pleased with the mounting kit, I used to have a bluey mounting kit which didn't look as robust.
If anyone is like I was alarmed at the distance between the lower brackets and the engine mounts, don't be. I was assured by Steve that this would close up without detriment to the tank itself, he was spot on, it's now a great fit.
I am extremely pleased with how strong the tank feels now its mounted, you could probably lift the bike from it !

Great feedback Dan and well done with your fixes  We did not think about the height of the oil cooler and like what you have done, simple enough and I may make a couple up, but anyone with an oil cooler a drill and hacksaw could make that upsmile

One of my favourite parts is how low the tank sits, making centre of gravity low down

Thanks, like you said its pretty simple so anyone could do that!
Its only actually a problem if you are running a oil cooler!

I forgot to mention if you are youll nedd to trim the mudguard a little to avoid conflict.

It certainly does sit low, certainly will hell when the tanks btimmed!:)

Just ordered mine. Work has been very slow lately, like so slow I nearly couldnt pay my morgage, but it is picking up now. So sorry about all the pressure and not buying on day one. Thanks for the you tube video on how to fit it. Let me know HOW not if to make a paypal donation or other donation to buy Brian and Steve some beer please. Thanks for all the hard work. My ttr will be getting stripped down, resprayed, then new tank and new fork boots. And goodbye purple!!

But sounds like you have enough on your plate at the moment and glad you are getting it sorted.

Are you going for the black and white look? I will be doing the same and going for gold rims and handlebars, black frame and seat cover.

I was lucky enough to squirrel away new side panels about 6 months ago, just trying to source a new rear fender and should have all new plasticssmilesmilesmile
