i have a ttr 250 engine that i have taken out because of smoking possible piston rings / valve stem seals it had no horrible knocking or rattling noises all gears selected ok the starter sprag clutch is noisy i do not have the time to recon this so i bought another engine which was ok so i am offering this for sale i have tried to be has honest as i can i will not accept any returns or any bad feedback on this forum it is what it is would make a good engine or to make a bigger bore type 350 etc £400.00 john 07961904435 many thanks

Any history for the engine? How many miles,what bike is it out of? Frequency of oil changes?

many thanks for your interest malcolm no service history no speedo info it was broke i fitted a trailtec speedo it came out of a white open enduro hope this helps pal

The abundance of detail you've given me tempts me to bid higher but I thought I'd give other punters a chance.

From the sounds of it, the engine needs a complete top end rebuild, sprag clutch, cam chain, rings at the very least...

Does the engine have an oil cooler?

Does the engine have a kickstart?

When was the sprag last changed?

Any damage to the starter gears?

What is the finish on the engine like?

Does the engine come with anything else like starter motor, inlet stub etc..

There is a real lack of info...

steady on malcolm no its not new read my first post no oil cooler or kickstart it would probably be worth buying at that price just for the kickstart assy if one was fitted

Woah, i wasn't having a go. It was meant to be constructive... the internet doesnt show emotion in text very well does it?

Its been nearly a year and noone has bitten, im just pointing out it could be better presented/informed and people might show an interest.

malcolm i did not in any way think you was having a go at me i have tried to be as honest as i can with my first post yes the engine was burning oil probably stem seals / piston rings but it ran with no horrible noises i used it for a while then i got a chance of another engine which i knew was good i have put for sale on here for some one who wants to do a 350 conversion would be ideal i would have used it myself but my ttr has enough power for me off road i hardly use it i have many bikes too many to ride so it may be for sale if i dont use it it runs perfect you can only ride one bike at a time i am told by her indoors all the best pal get youself to the iom plenty of offroad over there i took mine last year with my gsf 1200 bandit and used both nobody bothers you off road not like over here i keep telling our ttr steve to get his arse in gear & get over maybe one year john

Glad that got sorted and yes I am going to go, defo on my list to do, was going to go this year but left it to latecry Will book tickets for next year soon, something to look forward tosmile
